iClass Mail - Frequently Asked Questions


Why do I need iClass Mail?

If you're an Earth Class Mail customer you probably already know that you can't access your account with the iPhone's web browser. This makes it difficult to check your mail on the road without bringing a laptop. Furthermore if you travel overseas it can be very risky to check your Earth Class Mail account from a cyber cafe because many computer have malicious software on them that can steal your password and potentially allow criminals access to your sensitive mail.


Is iClass Mail Safe?

All communication between your iPhone and Earth Class Mail's servers is encrypted like it would be from any web browser. We suggest you set a password on your iPhone so if its lost or stolen no one will be able to access your mail.


What is your relationship to Earth Class Mail Corp.?

We have no special relationship to Earth Class Mail, we just saw a need for this kind of software and filled it.


Will iClass Mail still work if Earth Class Mail changes their site?

We will do our best to update iClass Mail to keep up with the latest changes to Earth Class Mail.


Will iClass Mail work overseas?

Yes, but you may have to activate Data Roaming on your iPhone and pay substantial international roaming data rates - see your cellular provider for more details. Note: you can still use iClass Mail with a WiFi connection and not pay international roaming rates.


Why does iClass Mail take so long to start the first time its run?

The first time you login to your account iClass Mail downloads and caches all your messages and envelope thumbnails. This process can take a few minutes depending on how many messages you have and the speed of your internet connection. Subsequent logins should be must faster. We've been speeding up iClass Mail with each revision but the iPhone is not nearly as fast as a computer.


Will iClass Mail support user defined folders?

Yes, but currently you can not move messages between folders in iClass Mail.
